You might export or download a file from the portal and then open it in excel, only to find the Excel sheet showing random characters in certain data.
The issue could be due to Excel not being able to detect the correct character encoding.
Firstly, visit the portal and check if the detail showing correctly in the portal.
If yes, then kindly apply a workaround below to fix the issue of random characters showing in the excel file.
Workaround:
Open a blank sheet in excel, and from the data ribbon choose import from text. Select the exported file.
Change the file origin to unicode(UTF-8). Follow the wizard and select other options as required. then click on finish.
The text should now be correct.
