Can I use the upload to create and update users?

Yes. The import can create new users and update existing users in the same bulk workflow.

When updating users, start by exporting the users' data. This provides the users’ current details and the fields configured for your portal.

Important: Updating or overriding an existing user’s email address through CSV upload is not supported. Do not change the email address in an exported user record, as the upload may create a duplicate user account instead of updating the existing account.

What file format should I use?

Save and upload the file in .csv format. Using the sample or exported CSV from your own portal is the safest way to retain the expected fields and formatting.

Which fields are required?

Some user fields may be mandatory in your portal. If a required value is missing, the affected row will be rejected and the relevant field identified.

Download a new sample CSV or export your users before preparing the upload to ensure the file reflects your portal’s current field configuration. Keep the column headers, as these are the supported headers for the import. Ensure you delete all example data before adding your user information and uploading the file.

Can optional fields be omitted?

You don't have to delete the optional fields, but you may keep these fields empty. Fields configured as required must contain a valid value for every affected column.

How do I update users without losing their current information?

Before making any bulk updates, export and save a backup of the original user file. This allows you to refer to the previous data if an unexpected change occurs.

Edit a separate copy of the exported file. Keep the existing information you want to retain and change only the required values.

How do I deactivate users in bulk?

  1. Select Export users from the Users tab.

  2. Change the affected users’ Status value to INACTIVE.

  3. Save the file in .csv format.

  4. Go to Add users > Import CSV and upload the edited file.

What happens if Go1 finds an error?

Go1 validates your CSV during processing. If the import fails, download the Failed CSV file and review the error shown in the last column (import message). Correct the identified issues, then upload the file again.

Invalid or incompatible headers may prevent the import from starting. Use a newly downloaded sample CSV or user export to ensure you have the current supported headers. If you cannot resolve an error listed in the Failed CSV file, contact Go1 Support.

Example error: This error indicates that the user you are trying to assign as a manager is not currently registered in the portal. Ensure the manager is added as a in the portal with the appropriate Manager role before assigning them to another user.

How will I know when the import is finished?

You will see a pop-up saying your import has started

Go1 sends an email when processing is complete. Review the result, correct any reported errors, and upload the updated CSV again if needed.
