Background
The Go1 integration with MHR People First automatically delivers new additions to your Go1 Library into MHR as learning resources.
Your MHR administrators attach these resources to courses and manage assignments. Learners access the content through MHR, where their completions are recorded automatically
Before you begin
You’ll need:
An active Go1 subscription and portal. Your Go1 team will help arrange these.
Access to learning in MHR People First, with administrator permissions to manage learning resources and courses.
Administrator access to Go1 Learn to select content for your Library.
Your MHR PENS connection details, available from your MHR team.
PENS is the connection used to transfer learning packages from Go1 into MHR. Your Go1 team will configure this connection for you.
No separate Single Sign-On (SSO) setup or learner identifier configuration is required for this integration.
Retrieve your MHR connection details
You will need the below details from your MHR People First environment to configure the integration
Information | Description |
PENS endpoint URL | The full PENS URL for your MHR environment, including its configuration identifier. |
PENS application ID | The application ID issued by MHR, also used as the PENS user ID. |
PENS secret key | The secret key issued by MHR to authenticate the connection. |
Login to your MHR People First platform and Access the Administration dashboard
Next, select the Settings option at the top of the dashboard, followed by 'Outbound Integrations' and 'PENS Authoring Tool.
Select the 'Generate Easy Generator key' option to generate a new set of PENS credentials. These will be required to be sent to your Go1 Implementation member to configure the integration.
Share the details with your Go1 team
Contact your Go1 Implementation Project Manager or Customer Success Manager.
Provide your Go1 portal URL and the MHR connection details listed above. Your Go1 team can guide you on securely sharing the secret key.
Let the team know if your Go1 Library already contains content you want to make available in MHR.
Wait for your Go1 team to confirm that the connection is active before adding content for delivery.
Content already in your Go1 Library is not automatically imported when the integration is activated. Discuss any existing content with your Go1 team during setup.
Add content and test the connection
Once your Go1 team confirms that the integration is active:
Sign in to Go1 Learn.
Find a content item that is not already in your Library.
Select Add to Library.
Allow time for the content to be transferred and imported into MHR.
In MHR People First, find the imported learning resource.
Attach the resource to a course and make it available to a test learner.
Launch and complete the content through MHR, then check that the completion is recorded.
Your Go1 team can help investigate content delivery issues. Your MHR team can help with attaching resources to courses, assignments and completion reporting.
Import times can vary. Content may not appear in MHR immediately after you add it to your Go1 Library.
Using the integration
Selecting and delivering content
Continue discovering and selecting content in Go1 Learn. New additions to your Library are automatically delivered to MHR as SCORM learning resources.
The integration supports Go1 content types, including your own uploaded content. Playlists are not supported.
Making content available to learners
Imported resources must be attached to courses by an MHR administrator. The integration does not automatically create courses or assign them to learners.
Manage course availability and assignments in MHR using your usual process.
Launching content and recording completions
Learners should launch Go1 content through MHR. MHR records completion through its built-in SCORM learning player, with no additional completion configuration required.
Note: Completions from content launched directly in Go1 Learn are not automatically sent to MHR.
Managing content changes and retirements
The integration automatically delivers new Library additions. Ongoing changes to existing MHR resources require administrator action.
Change in Go1 | What happens in MHR |
New content added to your Library after activation | Delivered automatically as a learning resource. |
An existing content item is updated | Metadata updates are not automatically applied to the imported MHR resource, however updates made to the content resource/media will automatically be reflected. |
Content is removed from your Library | The existing MHR resource is not automatically removed. |
Content is retired | The existing MHR resource is not automatically removed or deactivated. |
Review the retirement dashboard in Go1 Learn regularly and manage affected resources and courses in MHR. Contact your Go1 team if you need help with an updated content item.
Troubleshooting
Content is not appearing in MHR
Check that:
Your Go1 team has confirmed the connection is active.
The content was newly added to your Library after activation.
You are checking for an imported learning resource, rather than an automatically created course.
The item is not a playlist.
If it still does not appear, share your Go1 portal URL, the content title or ID, the time it was added, and any error message with your Go1 team.
The resource is in MHR, but learners cannot access it
Check that an MHR administrator has attached the resource to a course and made that course available to the relevant learners. Contact your MHR Customer Success Manager for help with course access or assignments.
A completion is missing
Confirm that the learner launched and completed the content through MHR. Learning completed directly in Go1 Learn is not automatically recorded in MHR by this integration.
If the learner completed it through MHR, contact your MHR Customer Success Manager with the learner, course and completion time. Your Go1 team can assist with content or launch issues.
Removed or retired content is still visible
Removing or retiring content in Go1 does not automatically change the existing resource in MHR. Review the affected resource and manage its availability in MHR.
