How to Unpublish a Course or Standalone Learning Item
There may come a time when a course or standalone learning item you’ve created is no longer relevant or needed by your learners. Please note that the option to permanently delete a course or resource is not supported. Rather than deleting the item, which could impact your reporting, you can unpublish it. Unpublishing removes access for learners while still retaining all enrollment and completion data for reporting purposes.
Note: This process applies only to courses or standalone learning items published within your own portal. You cannot unpublish content sourced from external providers.
Steps to Unpublish a Course or Standalone Learning Item
Log in to your Go1 Platform as either an administrator or the author of the item.
Locate the course or learning item.
As an author, you can access and edit the courses you’ve created by navigating to your "My Teaching" page.
As an administrator, you can view and manage all portal-created courses by going to Administer > Courses.
If the course is shared with the portal, it will also be available on the Explore page.
Once you locate the item, click the More icon (...) and select Edit.
In the Edit screen, click the More icon (...) at the top right-hand side.
Select Unpublish from the dropdown menu.
A confirmation window will appear. Click Yes, unpublish to proceed.
The window will close, and a confirmation notification will appear, indicating the item has been successfully unpublished.
When a course or standalone learning item is unpublished, it becomes hidden from learners and no longer appears in search results. However, existing enrollments remain intact and will still be reflected in reporting. For users who were previously enrolled, the course tile will remain visible with an "Unpublished" badge displayed.
Need to Re-Publish?
If you decide to make the item available again, you can return to the same screen and select Publish from the top-right corner. To exit the edit screen at any time, click the Close (X) button in the top-left.
