What are Knowledge Checks?
Knowledge checks are 3–5 multiple choice questions that appear automatically in the Player after a completing eligible Go1 library content. Each question is powered by AI using Go1's contextualization model, which personalizes questions based on your job title and industry.
This means the same piece of content can surface different questions for different learners — making the reinforcement more relevant to each person's day-to-day work.
Key things to know:
Optional: Knowledge checks don't affect course completion status.
Personalized: Questions adapt to each learner's job title and industry.
Scenario-based: Questions reflect situations relevant to the learner's job title.
Available on eligible content: Not all content has knowledge checks. We're continually expanding coverage across our library.
How knowledge checks work
When you finish an eligible piece of content, a knowledge check appears automatically in the Player. Here's what to expect:
You'll see 3-5 scenario-based multiple choice questions
Answer each question and click Check answer to see feedback on how you went
After completing all questions, you'll see your total score
Completing a knowledge check is optional. Your completion status is not affected whether you complete the knowledge check or skip it.
Your job title and personalization
Knowledge checks use your job title to frame questions around scenarios relevant to your role. You'll see your job title and industry displayed at the bottom of the knowledge check.
If your job title is incorrect or missing, update your profile here, or contact your admin to update it for you.
Note: Knowledge checks only appear if you have a job title on your profile. If you don't see a knowledge check after completing content, this may be because your job title hasn't been set.
Share feedback or report an issue
After completing a knowledge check, you'll be asked to rate how relevant the questions were to your role. You can also add additional details in the text field provided. This feedback helps us improve future knowledge checks.
If something doesn't seem right, you can report an issue directly from the knowledge check. Click the Flag icon in the top right corner to report an issue. You can add additional details in the text field provided. This feedback helps us improve future knowledge checks.
For Admins
Preview a knowledge check

Frequently Asked Questions
For admins
How are knowledge checks different from quizzes?
Quizzes are static — all learners see the same questions regardless of their role. Knowledge checks are generated using Go1's contextualization model, so questions are tailored to each learner's role and industry.
A learner's job title is wrong in their knowledge check. How do I update it?
You can update a learner's job title from the People page in Go1 Learn. Learn more about managing users here.
Can I preview knowledge checks before learners see them?
Yes, click on the Knowledge check preview banner on the preview panel in Search or the content page. You can choose from the top three most common job titles in your portal to compare how the knowledge check appears for different roles. Make sure you have at least one job title set in your portal — the preview won't work without one.
Why can't I preview a knowledge check for all content?
We're expanding coverage across our library. If you can't preview a knowledge check for a piece of content, it means we haven't generated one for it yet.
How can I see how learners are doing on knowledge checks?
You can see aggregate Knowledge Check activity in Skills Insights, including total knowledge checks completed and the number of unique learners engaging with them. If you want more detail, share your feedback via the banner in Skills Insights.
Can I turn off knowledge checks?
No. Knowledge checks are part of the Go1 platform. They're designed to be lightweight assessments that don't disrupt the learning experience — learners can skip them at any time, and they don't affect completion status.
Can I make knowledge checks mandatory for learners to complete?
Not yet, but this is something we may consider in the future.
Can I edit knowledge checks or create my own?
No. Knowledge check questions are generated using Go1's contextualization model and can't be manually edited or authored.
Will Knowledge Checks appear if I use Go1 content in my own course?
No. Knowledge Checks will not appear when Go1 content is used inside a course you create. Knowledge Checks are only shown when learners complete eligible Go1 content outside of a custom course. For example, a Knowledge Check may appear when a learner is assigned the Go1 content directly, finds the Go1 content through search, or opens the Go1 content from a playlist.
If you add Go1 content as an item within your own custom course, the learner can still complete the content, but the Knowledge Check will not appear. This helps avoid duplication. For example, if your course already includes a custom quiz or assessment, showing an additional Knowledge Check may feel repetitive or excessive for learners.
For learners
Why didn't I see a knowledge check after completing content?
We're expanding coverage over time. Knowledge checks are currently available in English for selected content in Go1's content library. They also require a job title on your profile — if yours hasn't been set, you won't see a knowledge check.
Are knowledge checks generated by AI?
Yes. Questions are generated using AI based on the content you completed and your role. You'll see a clear label indicating this.
Does the knowledge check affect my completion status?
No. Skipping or closing the knowledge check doesn't change your completion status. Knowledge checks are optional.
Can I see my previous results if I return to the content?
Yes. The score of your latest attempt is saved and displayed in the bottom nav bar of the Player.
My job title or industry looks wrong in the knowledge check. How do I update it?
You can update your job title from your profile in Go1 Learn.
