Award has three types of goals and they are as follows:

1. Complete Any

2. Reach the Target

3. Track ongoing Learning

Complete Any - Author can add the number of learning items and allow the users to choose which one to complete. Once the user has completed one of the learning items in this award, the award status will update to ‘completed.

Reach the Target - The author should set a target for the award to bring to completion. The target should match the sum of the credits in each required learning item.

For example, the award has 3 learning items and each learning item has 1 credit value, the award target should be 3. The target should always be the sum of the credit value of the learning items.

In this goal set-up, the author can enable the 'external learning records' where users or admins can add external certificates and add them with credits as well.

Once the 'external learning records' feature is enabled, the author can then enable 'Moderate external learning records' wherein the assessor's validation to submissions is required.

Track Ongoing Learning - This type of award is always misunderstood because this award does not trigger completion as it was designed for tracking purposes only. Authors can add new learning items from time to time without worrying about the users’ award completion.

Similar to the 'Reach the Target' goal, the author can also enable the 'external learning records' feature and 'Moderate External learning records'
