Metadata guidelines for publishing to content on Go1

Enriching content with metadata gives your content the best chance of being discovered and consumed by learners on Go1. Content metadata is used in search and ranking to better match learners with the content that meets their needs. While content metadata such as the title, description and learning outcomes are used to help learners easily determine if the content is right for them.

Guidelines

Title

The title of each learning item as it appears for learners.

Examples:

  • Accounting Basics

  • Contabilidad básica (Accounting Basics)

  • Keep titles short and to the point, so that learners can quickly see if the course is right for them

  • Avoid including your company name in the title

  • Title must be at least 8 characters

  • If in other language than English - add the English title in parenthesis

Description

Provide a brief description of what this course is about and what learners can expect it to cover.

Example: A knowledge of accounting principles and an ability to read financial statements is beneficial for those at any level in business. This course will teach you the core accounting principles and basics of understanding company financial statements. You will also be shown how to put together your own basic budget and balance sheet.

  • Between 30 and 200 characters

  • Do not include any hyperlinks

Image

The content image displayed to learners on the course card.

  • Format: PNG, JPG or JPEG

  • Size: a maximum file size of 10 MB

  • 3:2 image ratio

Learning Outcomes

The skills or knowledge learners should expect to gain from completing the content.

Example: Learn the basics of company accounts; Understand basic budgeting skills; Read and understand financial statements

  • Minimum of 2 learning outcomes

  • Separate multiple learning outcomes with a semi-colon

  • Avoid including any introductory text before the outcomes, i.e. “What you’ll learn:”

Duration

Duration to complete the learning in minutes.

Example: 120

  • Duration must be in minutes

Level

The level of difficulty of the content; used to match learners with the content for their abilities.

  • Select one from the following options:

    • Beginner

    • Intermediate

    • Advanced

    • Suitable for everyone

Topics

The topic area the content is related to.

Example:

Level 1: Business Skills

Level 2: Accounting and Finance

Level 3: Accounting

  • Select at least Level 1 and Level 2 topics from the Go1 topic taxonomy. If a Level 3 is available under your selected topic, you may select one.

Language

The primary language of the content.

Example: en

Region Relevance

This indicates if the content is designed for a particular region, for example covering specific legislation or compliance.

  • Multi-select field

  • Separate multiple entries with a semi-colon ;

  • If the content is globally relevant, indicate GLOBAL

  • Select from the following options:

    • AU

    • CA

    • GB

    • MY

    • NZ

    • UAE

    • US

    • ZA

WCAG compliance

Does the content meet the defined WCAG 2.0 AA standards for accessibility?

  • Select from: True / False

  • If you’re not sure, select False

Mobile optimised

Can the content be played on any device? (iOS/Android/tablets/etc)

  • Select from: True / False

  • If you’re not sure, select False

Assessable

The content contains assessable modules (e.g. quizzes, assessments, or knowledge checks) where the learner receives a score or feedback.

  • Select from: True / False

  • If you’re not sure, select False

Author

The author of the learning content. Can also be the instructor of the course if relevant.

  • Authors will have edit access to the content.

  • Add the email of the user in the portal

  • The email must be associated with a Go1 account

  • When adding more than one author, separate emails with a semi-colon ;

Locale

The regional accent of the audio in the content.

  • Select the locale(s) of the content

  • Separate multiple locales with a semi-colon ;

  • Select from the following options:

    • en-US

    • en-UK

    • en-AU

Tags

The keywords associated with the content.

Example: Accounting; Bookkeeping; Financial Statements

  • Separate tags with a semi-colon ;

Year Created

The year the content was authored.

Example: 2022

  • Provide the year in YYYY format

Price

The price of the content.

Example: 1000.50

  • Required when selling content directly to learners

  • Not required for Go1 Content Hub

Currency

The currency associated with the price of the content.

Example: AUD

  • Required if the content has a price
