Admin guide to getting the most out of Go1 Learn

Updated today

The dynamic homepage in Go1 Learn offers powerful tools to increase learner engagement while reducing administrative overhead. This guide helps you optimize the homepage experience to achieve your learning and development goals.

What makes the dynamic homepage effective?

The dynamic homepage adapts to each learner's unique context, displaying the most relevant content based on:

  • Their current learning and progress

  • Job title and organizational role

  • Content you've curated and endorsed

  • Learning patterns across your organization

This personalized approach drives higher engagement by showing learners exactly what they need, when they need it.

Setting up for success

1. Configure essential portal settings

Start with proper configuration to enable effective personalization:

  • Verify industry setting in MyGo1 - Portal Settings for your organization

  • Confirm region/country settings are accurate

  • Update job titles through bulk import or by encouraging user profile updates

  • Upload your company logo to accompany your Curated by section

  • Ensure your portal name reflects your brand identity for learners (avoid vague names like Learning Hub)

2. Curate meaningful playlists

The Curated by section showcases your hand-selected content and priorities:

  • Create 4-6 core playlists representing your key learning areas. Use Go1 AI Playlists to do the heavy lifting here.

  • Add custom thumbnail images that incorporate your brand elements

  • Write clear, compelling descriptions that explain why these playlists matter

  • Include a mix of content formats (video, interactive, articles) for different learning preferences

FAQs

Can we customize the Go1 Learn interface with our company branding?

While the Go1 Learn interface doesn't support custom logos in navigation or accent colours, your brand identity still appears within the learning experience:

  • Organization name displayed in the "Curated by [Your Organization]" section

  • Your company's curated content prominently featured on the homepage

To maximize your brand presence, we recommend focusing on the content you create. Your playlists, courses, and awards offer powerful branding opportunities:

  • Select cover images that reflect your brand colors and visual identity

  • Use consistent imagery that reinforces your organization's look and feel

  • Create titles and descriptions that convey your organization's voice

This approach allows you to maintain brand identity within your learning content while benefiting from the intuitive, engagement-focused interface that drives consistent learning activity.

Why doesn't Go1 Learn have a customizable welcome message?

The Go1 Learn homepage prioritizes personalized content over static elements.

Our research showed minimal engagement with custom welcome messages, while personalized recommendations significantly increased learning activity.

This approach dedicates valuable screen space to helping each learner quickly find relevant content based on their specific needs and learning history. Each person receives a tailored experience that evolves with them, rather than a generic message.

How is content prioritized in the "Curated by your organization" section?

Currently, the four playlists displayed are randomized. These selections refresh each time a learner visits or reloads the homepage, ensuring different content appears with each visit.

An enhancement coming in the next two months will allow you to select specific playlists, courses, and awards you want to feature in this section.

Can we customize which sections appear on the learner homepage?

The Go1 Learn homepage adapts dynamically to each person's learning journey, automatically showing what's most relevant to them at any given moment.

Rather than static sections that appear for everyone, the homepage intelligently displays content based on each learner's unique situation. For example:

  • "Assigned to you" appears only when learners have assignments to complete

  • "Continue learning" shows only when learners have courses in progress

  • "Recommended skills" appears when learners provide job title information

This personalized approach means each person receives a tailored experience that prioritizes their most important content first, rather than following a one-size-fits-all layout.

We continuously monitor how people interact with each section and optimize placement to maximize engagement, ensuring the most valuable content receives appropriate visibility without requiring manual configuration.

For highlighting specific content your organization wants everyone to see, we're actively developing additional content promotion tools including:

Spotlight content (Coming later this year) - This upcoming feature will allow L&D leaders to highlight seasonal or high-priority content directly on the learner homepage with custom context, perfect for time-sensitive initiatives.

What alternatives exist for the external link tiles available in MyGo1 Custom Dashboards?

Links like there are more effectively integrated when they appear in the context of related learning. You can add external links as a piece of content in relevant playlists or later, as Spotlighted content (coming Q2 2025), providing context about when and why to use these resources. This approach also allows you to track how often the resources are accessed to better measure their value.

How often are content recommendations updated?

Our recommendation system refreshes at least every 48 hours as library and catalog changes occur. This ensures your learners receive suggestions based on the most current available content.

When learners update topic preferences to personalize recommendations, these changes enter our next recommendation cycle. The system then works to identify the top 20 most relevant learning items based on these preferences combined with other factors like your organization's industry and country.
