Why won't my course complete?

Learn how to update mark items as complete in order to finish a course

Updated over 10 months ago

Occasionally, a learner may report: "I've completed this course multiple times, but it's still not showing as complete!"

This issue is usually due to one or more learning items within the course not being properly marked as complete.

What to Check

If a learner raises this concern, guide them to revisit the course and review the status of each section. Any module or learning item marked as "In Progress" should be fully completed to ensure the course is recognized as finished.

Manual Completion May Be Required

Some learning items—such as:

  • Documents

  • Text lessons

  • External links

  • Videos

May require manual confirmation. In these cases, learners should look for and click the "Mark as Complete" button.

Final Tip

Remind learners to double-check every section, especially those that may appear passive or non-interactive. Ensuring that each learning item is marked as "Complete" is essential for the course to reflect a finished status.

If the course was created by you or someone within your organization, you also have the option to manually update the learner's enrollment status within the course on their behalf.
