Edit or delete a group

Update group details, change dynamic group rules, or delete groups you no longer need.

You can update a group's name, description, or rules at any time. If a group is no longer needed, you can delete it — though you'll want to check for any active assignments first.

Prerequisites

You'll need Administrator permissions to edit or delete groups.

Edit group details

You can update a group's name at any time. This applies to both static and dynamic groups.

To edit group details:

Edit dynamic group rules

For dynamic groups, you can update the rules that determine membership. When you change a rule, the group's membership recalculates automatically to reflect the new criteria.

For example, you might add a new condition, change a department value, or adjust a date range. Any changes take effect as soon as you save.

To edit group rules:

Note: Changing a dynamic group's rules may affect active assignments. Users who no longer match the updated rules will be removed from the group. Review the membership preview before saving.

Delete a group

If a group is no longer needed, you can delete it. Deleting a group does not delete the users in it or remove their learning history.

If the group has active assignments, Go1 Learn will warn you before deletion. Consider whether you need to reassign that learning before proceeding.
