Before creating or uploading content to Go1, ask yourself these key questions to ensure your content meets best practice standards.

Updated this week

Before creating or uploading content to Go1, ask yourself these key questions to ensure your content meets best practice standards. For bulk uploads, refer to our Bulk Upload guide.

Planning Questions

  • Who will use this learning object and what are their needs?

  • What knowledge or skills should learners gain from this content?

  • How will it fit into their learning journey?

Choosing the Right Format

Is your learning made up of a single piece or multiple pieces of media?

For single pieces, choose from these formats:

Format

Description

When to Use

Externally made content in industry standard formats (SCORM, xAPI, etc.)

For flexible learning modules that track progress, assess comprehension, adapt to individual needs, and report to your LMS

MP4 uploads or YouTube/Vimeo links

For explanations, how-to guides, lectures, etc.

MP3, OGG, WAV

For podcast episodes, audiobooks or recordings

Content linked to external applications or web pages

When your content is located externally

Documentation (PDF format)

For learning documentation

Written content

For instruction guides or documentation

For more details, see our Single Learning Object Formats guide.

For multiple pieces or groups, choose between:

Format

Description

When to Use

Course

Structured collections of learning modules in a specific sequence. Can include various content types, be assigned and tracked, and require module completion

• When creating content from scratch

• When combining existing media (videos, documents, etc.) into a structured learning path

Playlist

Unstructured collections curated from Go1 library. Cannot be assigned or tracked directly

When compiling existing courses (e.g., grouping related courses like Food Handling)

Note: For multiple SCORM files, follow our Bulk Upload guide.

Technical Considerations

  • Ensure compatibility with learning management systems using SCORM standards

  • Meet Go1's performance criteria for load times and technical benchmarks such as: Image Quality Standards and Content Metadata Guidelines

  • Test your content thoroughly:

    • Launch speed

    • Completion tracking

  • Ensure content plays properly within the Go1 player without cookie dependencies

  • Avoid using pop-ups in your content

  • Obtain proper authorization before collecting learners' personal data (requires Go1 DPA and written permission)

Best Practice Tips

Start Strong

  • Create a clear, searchable title

  • Write a concise, informative summary

  • Use bullet points to list learning outcomes

Following these guidelines will help ensure your content delivers an optimal learning experience while meeting Go1's technical requirements.
